The annual Summer Heat Wave Concert Series at Western Oregon University kicks off on Wednesday, June 26. These lunchtime performances are held on Wednesdays through July and offer free dessert. All performances are held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the WUC Plaza.
JT and the Tourists, of Salem, Ore. will perform on June 26. These veteran rockers perform the greatest oldies hits. Free strawberry shortcake will be available. Jackson Michelson, from Corvallis, performs his own country music on July 3 with marion berry cobbler available. On July 10, Brothers, Bror of Salem will perform indie music. Brownie sundaes will be available. Tommy Simmons will be on campus July 17 to perform his acoustic/indie music, with peach cobbler on hand. On July 24, Rachel Wong will bring her acoustic pop sound to Monmouth. Lemon bars will also be available. Lastly, the series will close on July 31 with some wet and wild fun on a water slide and ice cream bars.
