Western Oregon University guest artist and renowned printmaker, Qiushi Li, will show a new body of work in the Werner University Center (WUC) Art Gallery at Western Oregon University from Jan. 15 through Jan. 31, 2013 with an opening reception on Wednesday, January 16 from 3 to 5 p.m. There will also be a brown-bag lecture at noon on the Jan. 16 in the Columbia Room of WUC. Both events are free and open to the public.
Qiushi Li is a printmaker from Shenyang, China. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a master’s degree from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. In 2010 he attended the senior training of French printmaker, Andre Bongibault. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. at Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts. He teaches at the Design and Art Institute of Shenyang Aerospace University in China and has been invited to many national and international exhibitions and published many articles and prints. Last fall, he was invited to be a guest artist at Western Oregon University where he has been working on a new body of prints for the past four months.
