Western Oregon University kicks off its annual Homecoming celebration on October 7. The week is filled with events that appeal to students, alumni, faculty, staff, the community and more. This year’s theme is “Calling All Wolves.” The full schedule of events is below.
Monday, Oct. 7
2nd annual Fundie Run
Werner University Center (WUC) Plaza, 6 p.m.
Participants must donate at least two items of clothing. Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Inc. will collect clothing items and donating them to the Monmouth Food Bank. The run will begin at the Plaza and end in Q-Lot (next to Hamersly Library). The first participant to reach the finish line will be given the honor of helping light the “W” at the bonfire kick-off taking place after the Fundie Run.

WOU students, staff, faculty and the public are invited to kick-off Homecoming week by gathering around the fire and singing the school fight song! Enjoy appearances by the football and the WOU cheer teams. With a number of activities and games scheduled such as a pie eating contest and an egg toss competition, the kickoff will be a night to remember. Prizes will be available as well as complimentary apple cider, provided by E.Z. Orchards.
Tuesday, October 8
Paint the Wolf!
Church St. (outside WUC), 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Students will have the opportunity to make their mark on the Wolf logo displayed on Church St. Stop by anytime to help paint the wolf and bring some spirit to Homecoming 2013!
WUC Plaza, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Come celebrate Oktoberfest with food for purchase and spirited music. Hosted by the German Club, there will also be a beer garden for those aged 21 and over.
Wednesday, October 9
The Grove, 5 to 7 p.m.
Come join the Student Activities Board at The Grove to enjoy free food, live music by Sunderland, volleyball, face painting, prizes and more. Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Inc. will host their annual car smash with Omega Delta Phi hosting a game of spoons for those in attendance.
WOU’s Got Talent!
WUC Pacific Room, 8 p.m.
WOU’s Got Talent will be a display of talent never before seen with a variety of acts such as comedy, poetry, song and dance. Make sure to arrive early for a good seat and bring a friend for the festivities. To participate in WOU’s Got Talent, contact Rebecca at email@example.com.

The classes of 1963, 1988, and 2003 will be recognized as they celebrate their 50th, 25th, and 10th year reunions respectively as well as the Alumni Award of Excellence winners.
