MONMOUTH – An event promoting sexual assault awareness and a guest speaker, Dr. Will Keim, will be held at Western Oregon University on Monday, Feb. 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Pacific Room of Werner University Center. The event, called “Fight the Silence,” features a sexual assault survivor panel with a Q&A and Keim’s inspirational presentation. The event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by Abby’s House and the WOU Foundation.
Keim has spoken to over 2.5 million students, faculty, and professional staff from 2,500 collegiate and corporate campuses in the United States and most provinces in Canada. His corporate clients include AT&T, IBM, Delta Air Lines, State Farm Insurance, Eye Med, Lenscrafters, Luxottica, Swiss Army Brands, The Ford Family Foundation, Holt International, Colorado Springs Fire Department, Oregon Chiefs of Police, and The Anti-Defamation League. He has written or co-authored 14 books.
Abby’s House is a group of students, staff, faculty, and community members whose goal is to operate a Center for Women and Families at Western Oregon University . Its goal is to support women and families in the Western Oregon University community by providing resources and referral information to individuals in need and sponsor educational programming. Women and their families are welcome to use Abby’s House resources and they provide time and space for support or networking groups to meet in a nurturing, comfortable and confidential atmosphere.
